Product Management

The project engineering is completed in Germany and includes the following steps:

  • Quotation based on 2D and 3D data
  • Print review
  • DFM (design for manufacturing) – feasibility study with specification of the parting line, location of the sliders, gate type, gate location, mould-flow analysis and, if requested, distortion analysis
  • Tool layout
  • Tool drawing (2D and 3D)

The production monitoring is carried out in China by our Shanghai team:

  • Weekly update of the project schedule including visit reports and pictures of the tool status
  • Tool trial T0 in order to test the tool functions
  • Tool trial T1 in order to produce samples under serial production conditions. These project milestones are additionally supervised by regular visits of the German team 100% inspection report for one part, variance analysis for 5 samples with previously defined process dimensions
  • Monitoring of the tool optimisation and correction
  • Measuring of the corrected dimensions
  • Following Tool trial for textured and/or optimised parts
  • Final tool inspection with checklist after release of the samples by the customer
  • Preparation of the tool shipment, including required spare parts or electrodes
  • Tool package including anti-rust spraying, vacuum aluminum foil and wooden box
  • Compiling of the actual tool drawings and of the process data
  • Organisation of the tool transfer to Germany by air or sea freight
